"Truth is a perspective, but authenticity cannot be counterfeited."

We often think we know the truth, only to find out that the buyer, the seller, or the co-broke have their own truth. Have you ever thought of something as true and then you learned something that gave you a new perspective? 

When we have a seller who thinks the truth is that Real Estate agents make too much money, is that true? It is to them… 

You can take the simplest thought such as the sky is blue and ask, how can anyone argue with that? And yet there is proof that humans did not “see” the color blue until modern times, they registered it as green. Go ahead, google it! That’s how to find the truth right? How often do your clients find a Real Estate insight on the internet and tell you it must be true!

When is it time to prepare for support? How about NOW?

According to Harvard Business Review there are 5 stages of business growth: Existence, Survival, Success, Takeoff, and Resource Maturity. The chart below illustrates the cycle of any business moving through these phases. Where are you on the chart? As Real Estate agents, we can determine where we are at on the growth chart in our career, and the larger we grow, the more support we will need or perhaps just “different” support. Stage III (Success) is the critical point where the agent becomes stable and profitable.

Stage I (Existence) This is the world of the newer agent or the agent who decides to go no further. There are few clients, little organization, systems are not efficient or non-existent. The agent does everything themselves. This is dangerous territory without growth because Stage I takes up tremendous energy and financial resources to keep going. Six Thoughts on Mid-Year Review

  • Mid-year reviews can trigger monkey mind. Thoughts like "I didn't do enough" or " Sure I did well, but how will I do it again?" Observe these thoughts and try to simply try to look as an observer of your story of the last 6 months. There is always tension between expectations and reality. When we can be in that space, we can see the gap between where we are at and where we want to be.
  • Mid-year reviews are a chance to renew our commitment to our life's intentions. In coaching you have a menu of life's priorities that you yourself have selected. These could be a variety of things that are wholly yours to explore with goals such as: being a successful entrepreneur, or a loving family member, an adventurer, or a successful communicator.
  • Mid-year reviews allow us to dream again. What is the opportunity to play at an even greater level?
  • Mid-year reviews are an opportunity to play at the coaching model...look, see, tell the truth, and take authentic action.

People have Goals Not Horses

I was asked to be interviewed for a social media post by one of the nonprofits I work for, Bpeace.org (Business Council For Peace). I think it is a great reminder that what we think are important goals for ourselves may not be important for others. Always check the ecology of your goals to make sure they are good for all parties involved. 

"𝙄 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙬 𝙪𝙥 𝙤𝙣 𝙖 𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙝 𝙞𝙣 𝙆𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙖𝙨, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙖𝙙 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙨, so it wasn’t until 2016 that I got my horse, River. He has lots of personality, and loves attention; really the perfect retirement buddy. I have to remember to control my business tendencies with him though. I brought my horse-trainer a list of goals to achieve with River over the next year (you know the kind: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-based). She took one look and replied, 'You do know River doesn’t have goals, right Donna?'
