Today I honestly don't care if you generate a lead... though you probably will if you do this.

Your job today is to call as many people you know that own homes within a radius of 5 miles from your office. Close your eyes and think. Who do you know?

Great, write down some names. Now... go google them. Yep, do a little computer research. Are there a few of them that you have something in common you didn't realize?

How about you call or email or text or FB chat or Link In, etc. with those people and mention that thing you have in common.

You don't even HAVE to mention real estate, though it would be best... if it doesn't naturally come up, casually mention your last/next open house, or a buyer/seller you are working with, or even a house you saw or are going to preview.

Make it known that you both have something in common... and you happen to sell real estate and they are welcome to call on you if they ever have a question.

Be a friend. A real estate friend.
